Good news for New Jersey families: you can see a licensed physical therapist without a physician referral (direct access). In NJ, PTs can evaluate and treat you directly, and they’ll coordinate with your doctor and refer out if symptoms suggest another condition or if progress isn’t seen within 30 days.
